Functional Family Therapy
We are excited to announce that ECS has been awarded a Request for Proposal (RFP) with the Oklahoma Office of Juvenile Affairs to provide Functional Family Therapy (FFT) services in the following counties: Oklahoma, Lincoln, Logan, Kingfisher, Canadian, Cleveland, Pottawatomie, Caddo, Blaine, Dewey, Custer, and Washita.
Functional Family Therapy is an evidenced based psychotherapy model that was developed for adjudicated youth and their families. FFT uses a strength-based home and community-based services approach to achieve positive outcomes for youth to reduce recidivism.
FFT differs from traditional talk therapies because it treats the whole family as the client. This model quickly gets to the heart of issues that lead to delinquency. FFT uses strength based corrective intervention to transform family interactions actions at their core prior to teaching skills and focusing on target behaviors. This makes FFT more than a prescription to symptoms of a problem.
Once fully trained an FFT team can expect to yield results at 80% effectiveness. Traditional talk therapies often yield 60-70% effectiveness. FTT outcomes have been empirically proven to reduce child delinquency, child abuse and neglect, and increase family cohesion, resulting in fewer out of home placements.
